Brakes got ?s

Hey everyone. It is about time to change the brakes on the truck. I know the front calipers are a 2 piston setup. What is the best way to push the pistons back in. Can I do them 1 at a time, or do they both need to go in at the same time. What pads are good should I stay with the stock pads. Truck is an everyday driver not a race truck or anything crazy. Thanks Jason

Go buy a $4 pad spreader at the autoparts store. Leave the back pad in, and push on the pad. It will push back both pistons at the same time. You can push one at a time, but it makes the other on pop out a bit. You will go back and forth a little bit until both are depressed.

I would go with semi-metallic pads. DO NOT BUY THE CERAMICS, they create too much heat and will warp the rotors in 1000 miles!

Don't forget to pull the caliper assembly apart and grease the pins, otherwise you will get uneven pad wear and possibly warped rotors!
