Pics of tinted windows? Red L?
Hey all, wanted to see if anyone had some pics of their L (red?) with tinted windows. Im thinking that I should get the sides matched to the factory tint..........anyone go darker on that rear sliding window? Not sure how dark I should get the front. I usually hate that "batwing sweep" (big arc curve) shops put on front truck windows, so am leery about what I should tell the shop to do in the front glass. Anyway, if you have a pic of your tints, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Sorry Joe, I have no pics to show you but I did tint the windows on my red Lightning. I had the side glass matched to the rear window and it looks awesome. I also had the front windshield tinted about 5 inches from the top, sort of like a banner. Go ahead and do it. It looks great and you`ll like it.

Here is mine. I think it's 20% tint, maybe lighter. It was on the truck when i bought it.

I appreciate the replies (and pics) everyone. I drove down to what Ive heard is the best tinter in town (Tallahassee, FL). He said he'd use 'Formula One" tint (which he claimed to be the best) and said he'd do the back, sides and complete front for $240. I'm trying to find some impartial opinions online about the Formula One tint brand he uses.

$240 is alot of coin for that but I guess if he really does a good job and the product is quality then go for it. Why would you do the back. It`s hard to see through it anyway. Besides, when you do the sides, it will be even harder to see in. Good Luck man, I think you`ll be happy when it`s done.

Yeah, I thought 240 was high as well, but I havent had a vehicle tinted in like 6 years, so dont know if thats reasonable or not (and ive never had a truck tinted before). I wanted the back and sides pretty dark, because down here in Florida, the Sun is relentless, and that truck has a whole lotta window heating up that cab 16+ hours a day.

I have never heard of that brand of tint and that seems quite expensive. I got 5% limo tint that is made by llumar (this and 3M are probably the most popular). Also, I got the front windows, the little side windows, back, and stripe across the front done for $130. They did a real good job and its where a lot of the custom car shops in town refer people to. I'm down in Gainesville btw. Good luck!

Heres mine.I had the guy put 20% on the sides and 45% on the back so it wouldnt be too dark while backing up.I had the ''eyebrow'' on the front but got tired of lookin at it so I ripped it off.On the 03/04 models theres no smoked top sheild what so ever,And I thoght it looked cleaner without it.

I had 20% done about 3 weeks ago for $110 bucks. It is Llumar metalized tint which I read was supposed to be the best. It is a 5 layer tint. I don't know how you guys with 5% can see out the side windows in the dark. I was driving home from the track which is out of city limits so there are no lights and I could hardly see anything.
