Will I need to modify the firewall for this combo at all? How much are the pieces seperately? I know the KB hovers around $3,000?
Yeah I got my Eaton, but everything is still stock. I think that would be funny (yet a bad idea) to have the kb be my only mod to the L, not even a chip.

Not a bad idea at all. With 100 octane, Richard Holdener got 522 rwHP with just a KB, Accufab, and filter.

How much boost was he running Tim? No LT's? I'd love to be at that level with my KB, I'm making 457/549 rwhp/rwtq @ 97 degrees in the booth. Cooler weather will pick it up, but not that much!

Tim,

I really appreciate the info. I wonder how long the motor would last with 20-21 psi of boost? I am seriously considering trying a lot more boost with my own tune, alcohol injection, and a nice fat and sassy A/F.

When they say 21 psi, I imagine they're speaking of peak boost? Reason I ask is because mine always ramps up with the KB. I start at 13 and ramp to 15.5 or 16 depending on outside temps. I'd love to have more than 13 when you stomp it though.

I'd love your opinion on trying to run that much boost on a stock long block. I have my own ideas of what is breaking the motors.

I think I got the same idea as Jody as to why the stock motors are breaking. And I plan to test that out with my new toy.

So far so good for me

But I DON'T adhere to the "Drive It Like You Stole It" philosophy that many have here Iam hitting 21# at peak, and I don't hit peak boost driving on the street. Only 5 or 6 times a day at the track.

But Iam under no illusion that Iam not pushing the limits of my stock block

I'm the same way. Heck, my little 1 gallon reservoir of alcohol will last a month or so before it needs to be re-filled. I'm not afraid to floor it but it isn't an "everywhere I go" type of occurence!

I'm going to find out that's for sure. I've been running 16 psi for a year. I'm ordering a couple of pulleys tomorrow from KB.
