Are all aftermarket hoods HEAVY?

..........except a carbon fiber one.

My L came with an aftermarket cowel hood with two cobra scoops. It seems as light or lighter than the stock one, which I have in my garage.

I lift it about 1/3 or 1/2 the way up and it jumps the rest of the way super fast.

...........just wondering.

Someone weighed the hoods once.

Since the stock is aluminum I bet its the lightest

Even carbon fiber has to have lots of heavy resin to smooth it out

Too bad you have to have that ugly license plate on the front bumper.

Kirst, do you have the holes cut out? I got a quote of $600 to do it, so I have yet to get it done. I was also thinking that street scenes mesh grill in the holes after theyre cut would look slick.

It's an american auto designs (or something real close, I got it awhile ago). Yeah, it's AAD, I think one is for sale in the classifieds right now. Retail is 600 plus shipping. I would jump over the one in the classifieds, it's pretty damn slick.
