04 SRT-10 runs 14.0's...

http://forums.pickuptruck.com/showfl...085#Post379346

Well I made four runs, my best was my last.
2.45 60 feet
14.07 @ 101.06 mph

Tried launching at about 3 k but kept spinning the tires. Lowered the launch to about 2.2 to 2.5 ( it was hard to get it perfect each time, there is so much going on with the lights, helmet, being nervous) and got one launch with no wheel spin, and it was my slowest run 14.34 Everytime I hit second I was scratching the tires hard. I have never had that much wheel spin on the street. My big goal being this was my first time at the track was to try to get into the 13's. I got darn close. I know if I can get my 60 ft.time down my quarter times will come down a lot. So next month will be better. The truck handled great and got A LOT of attention. People were really impressed with it. It felt really good to open her up and not worry about getting a ticket!!!! That alone was worth the cost of racing!!
I must say....

AND hes at sea level!

Ya I saw that before. TO give him credit it was his first time at the track. Still a 14 out of a truck with that much power has to suck.

I have seen guys report high 15's constantly in a 350Z. You can't blame the vehicle if a person is having trouble putting the power to the pavement.

Hey, it was his first time. But, I did better my first time with less power, so, it's a toss up, depending on how you look at it. However, it does SUCK.

Look at his 60 foot time of 2.45. I am willing to bet if he had that down to even a 2.0 he would have had an easy high 13 second run…

More like low 13's. Sounds like he has the shifting down pretty good, just needs a decent launch. I guess we all should be laughing since a Lightning has never gone 14's. -Mat-
