rear gear question

rear gear question

my L is pushing 437 rwhp does anyone think a difrent gear in the rear will help my E.T.'s?

1. what year is your L (this will determine what gear you have)

2. most likely no. you will run out of gear at the end of the strip if you drop it down any.

Unless you are going for all out speed, not 1/4 mile times, stay with what you have.

i have only pegged the speedo 4 times, i want better et's in the 1/4. dont really need to go 150 mph

what size tires are you running? at your power level, 28" slicks would do fine. then once you turn it up some more and break into the 11's get some 30".

Whats your wheel/tire setup?

I'd go with shorter tires and drag wheels to change the ratio put to the ground.

I've had bad experiences with ring and pinion changes. My $00.02
