I have no clue what you're talking about. What pieces etc. A pic or a better description might yield you some more help. Otherwise you'd be limited to somebody seeing the thread that actually has a LFP CAI and can figure out what you're talking about.

It is the Holidays and not all may have time to check the boards and see this post that actually have the same kind.

im just very fustrated ive been waiting a long time for like $900 worth of stuff that came today and i cant even get the stupid CAI set up. after the filter there is a metal bracket and a tube that goes into the side fender. the tubing seems way too big and i have no idea what to do with the bracket. i got no instructions and LFP wont answer their phone.

If you look at the LFP website pic, which bracket are you talking about? I assume the piece farthest to the right here is the boot you mentioned?

BTW if it is the right side bracket in this pic. You can still run the truck just fine if you don't install that and the boot. I did for over a year until I found a boot from a GM vehicle to fit. That might give somebody time to get back to you.

I cut the tube to 2 3/8" and it fit perfectly. The bracket supports the filter and fits around the end. I used the air force 1 steel tube with the LFP kit. There is a pre-drilled hole in the fender well at about 5 o'clock where I mounted the bracket.

i figured you would have to cut it. i just dont understand why they would send you a boot that doesnt even fit up right. should i cut it to that measurement? is this a problem for everyone with this CAI?

I went and looked at my fender side. I think you put the foam piece over the filter on one end and then clamp it down on the filter with the big loop. Is there a hole at the other end of the bracket to put a screw through? If so I would assume it either screws in underneath one of the existing bolts there either by the resovoir or the box on the other side.

You would be perfectly fine to install the other pieces and leave the foam and foam bracket off for a few days or longer until you figure out how it goes.

People use different tubes from the stock, PSP's and the Air Force 1. Each one will place the filter at a different distance from the fender well so therefore the boot has to be cut.

No offense but one has to be flexible when working on these trucks and there is always some extra engineering that has to be done when modding.

This is how it mounts and you shouldn't have to cut it. The pointed end of the rubber goes toward the fender.

Tim,

Your bracket is different than the one that came with my kit. The bracket that came with mine has only one mount that screws to the fender well. The one in your pic has two.

But, my analosity will have me out in the garage shortly seeing if it mounts better using the mounting holes in your pic.

EDIT: I went out and moved the bracket like Tim's and it fits and looks better. I had to include pics:
