Man, my gas mileage sucks!

I've had my new '04 L for about a month now. Just checked my mileage from my last tank, and I'm getting 11 mpg in town! Geez, I got better mileage with my 440 'Cuda. I guess we're all in the same boat, but it's just a shock to me that these things are such gas pigs. Ok, the rant is over....

Some guys have said that... I've always averaged at least 16mpg.

The worst I ever got was hot footing in the mountians of east Tenn. Avg = 12.xx

I couldnt give 2 *****s what my in-town milage is. I am a bit disapointed on the hwy milage though, but I knew what I was getting myself into.

I reccomend the swirlly-dirrly amazing air tornado! (tm) as seen on TV..........the patent is pending, so you know it must be good!

Tell me about it....I sold a 'vette to buy this L. I was getting about 16 in the city and 26 on the highway. But that car had a 6th gear with .5 ratio. Oh well....maybe it'll get better with a little more break in, only 2K miles on it so far.

Nope, won't get much better. Besides there is no way you can compare fuel mileage on a 5500lb+ truck shaped like a freezer vs a 3900lb vette shaped like a door stop. Even the 'cuda will get better due to the weight and the manual.

I average about 13.xx freeway 60% city 40%. Hasn't changed much over 25k and remember they are trucks that can acutally carry a load.

I avg. 11-12 but have not re-dyno tuned since my ported blower yet. I am waiting till I get my LT,cats and 2.8 upper on. But I have quite a few mods so I can't complain. I also do a lot of hwy driveing so that helps.

Puleeze!!!

R U Kidding me? I'm running 60 lb. injectors with the big fuel pumps and a KB blower. I can't be getting even 10 MPG and I couldn't care less. If you wanted good fuel economy why did you buy a performance vehicle? I used to get about 8 MPG with my '70 Buick Stage 1, but I didn't mind 'cause I blew away just about everything else on the road. If you wanna play, you gotta pay.

I get 11-12 MPG every tankfull. If I've done alot of hot-footing, it ends up around 10 MPG.

I have no idea how anyone every gets 16... I don't get that on the hwy... you must drive like a grandma and live in an area with out stop lights and stop signs... Maybe they all live on the salt flats of Utah...

I get 10.5-11
