LOL, okay. Congrats on your great time, but I was correct, you didn't go 12.1 on just gears and slicks, your website shows you only went 12.6 and then with the addition of an intake you went the 12.1.

The original comment I made, "doubt it", was on "12.1 with just gears and slicks" post your friend made. And then later you added the link showing your time slips, showing you also had an intake.

None the less great times and I would still like to see you run whenever you head back this way.

Yes, that is correct, with an intake. My buddy was there and knew I had an intake. In any event, I am very impressed with that number for the mods. I plan on doing exhaust next but am seriously considering postponing and doing a dyno tune just to see if it is possible to get that car to break into the 11s. Even if it is an 11.999, that would be cool to say I got my car into the 11s with just gears, tune, slicks and an intake. Im not sure that a dyno tune would drop 2 tenths but you never know. Not sure I want to spend the $500 to find out either.

Yea, you may be right. If I don't I'll always wonder about it for sure.

Chances are good the dyno tune _will_ give you more HP even if you just have an intake.

I put a Vortex intake on my Z06 as my first mod. I got 1rwhp gain (IOW, nothing...that's within the error factor of the dyno).

Why no power? Because the Long Term Fuel Trims got out of whack a bit (not far enough out of the threshold to throw a code, however).

Tuning myself via LS1edit allowed me to correct that, which in turn allowed me to get the WOT A/F ratio right... and I picked up 17rwhp with _just_ an intake.

In fact, I'm willing to bet the intake did you NOTHING for your ET/MPH times. You ran 112-113mph stock. With proper gearing and good driving (obviously you have both) that trap speed is good for a low, low-12/high-11 sec timeslip.

To the guy at Englishtown who hasn't seen a Z06 do better than mid-12s... uh, that track is worth 2-3 tenths if us Texas boys came up there and ran. Check around next time you'll go and maybe you'll run into the two guys who run Z06's with drag radials and an intake... and run 11.7-11.8 @ 117-118mph. Rest of the car is stock. If your buddy ran 12.5 at that track, then he just needs more seat time.
