The 30 degree ROLL CAGE rule only applys to seat upright braces on front engine dragsters!!

You cannot take a rule out of context from a section on roll cages and apply it to a roll bar!!

The rules on roll bars are very vague, and yes an inspector can fail a car for not meeting the rules, but an inspector cannot fail a car for rules that are NOT in the book!!!
Forget it, you're a lost cause. You think what you want, the rest of us obviously know what's right. The only reason I made my original statement was because you were giving people advice that could cost them their lives. Since it's apparent that nobody cares about, or believes what you are saying, I'm just wasting my time now as this is a one on one useless debate and you are only going to see what you want to see.

Actaully that is completely untrue. The NHRA rules state the rear bars must be no less than 30 degrees from the main hoop. That is why on a standard cab truck, you have to go out the rear window. There is no room to stay over a 30 degree angle and still have it inside the cab. If you had crew cab truck like an HD truck, you could probably get away with because of all the extra in cab space behind the driver.

The reason you need the rear bars in the first place, is because the main hoop must be supported against forward and rearward collapse. Having rear bars under a 30 degree angle puts you at a great risk for not enough support against rear ward collapse.
SAl, you originally told me I was wrong.....

You say I am wrong because of the 30 degree rule...

Where is that in the rule book??

My point is here Sal, there is no 30 degree rule for a roll bar OR roll cage so I guess that means I am not wrong and therefore you are wrong!

I haven't seen anything where you qouted anything about a 30 degree rule??

BTW, I gave NO ADVICE to anyone about roll bars...I simply said what the rules allow...

When did i say this?

First of all you need a roll BAR not a cage for 10's and even then you are not legal for 10's..

there are several other things you NEED to be able to run 10's

Some of which are not even available yet!!

I certainly hope that all you "SAFETY MINDED" people don't think that you can safely run 10's without all the proper safety equipment!!

Go ahead Sal, Tell them the good news about what else they need to run 10's legally...oh yeah and where they can go to buy these items...LOL

You're the know it all, why don't you fill us in with your vast knowledge of the rules?

I'd also be interested in hearing which items you think don't exist for our trucks to legally runs 10s. There's only one that I know of, but you said "some" which means more than one.

Well..

We need an SFI balancer...available

We need a trans blanket/shield... a universal blanket is available a shield is not.

We need aftermarket axles....Hmmm NOT AVAILABLE

We need C-clip eliminators....also NOT AVAILABLE

HMMmmm...I guess IHRA and NHRA require these items for safety....so anyone running a 10 w/o these items is risking their lives!

NOW WHO CAN'T READ!!!

look above and read!!

and once again, you don't need a cage only a bar!

LQ, I hope this opens your eyes, it was intended to!

Don't believe what "everybody says", get yourself a rulebook and look into what is actually required!

I read just fine!

Nowhere does it say rear bars are required...Sal, is the only one that says that...You want to believe him thats fine..but i have a rule book right here and it doesn't say what he says!!

I think eveyone should get a rule book and read it yourself before they go telling anyone they are wrong or can't read!

YOU obviously have no knowledge of the rules yourself!
