HI!... RDY2RAC : I ordered the FOX LAKE heads through MIKE TROYER as a spiecal deal. Came fully loaded with all the extras. Removing the swirl dam was something new at the time and was supposed to increase flow. I've had these heads for over 2 years now and their still waiting to be installed on my built 5.4 turbo engine.

Suavy : From what I can see, the combustion chamber look exactly the same between the ROMEO and WINDSOR heads. I can't see there being a cumbustion chamber difference between the two. That would in turn change the compression ratio. Since both ROMEO and WINDSOR 4.6's use the same piston, they can't be different.

I thought we were talking 4.6L PI 2V heads to 5.4L windsor PI heads?

I am going to bring one of my 5.4L 2V PI heads heads to work and shoot a pic of it and then take a pic of the 4.6L 2V PI heads.
The comprision is what I heard was the diffrence? Don't get me wrong I have been wrong before I am going to take a cam tower and set that on top also to see if it fits? The guy who machined my heads said he could not use the cam towers? I'll report back tomorrow.

Neal, glad to see you back around! I e-mailed you on 2 diffrent occasions for X-plans for Canadian people?

Suavy

HI!... From what I have seen. The ROMEO heads and the WINDSOR heads are identical except for the cam girdle and the different valve cover bolt pattern on the ROMEO's.

Suavy the compression difference is in the pistons them self. and not the heads. since you have access find out if the romeo heads have the different bolt pattern for the cam covers than the windors or if they revised them to match when they went to the pi design.

HI!... The ROMEO and WINDSOR 4.6 use the same piston. I believe the 5.4 uses the same piston as well. Most after market piston manufacturers state that the 4.6/5.4 use the same piston.

i think the mustang has a shorter intake maifold runner than the 4.6 truck and 5.4, I would think this is resposible for the different power levels.

huh?

so the regular f150 and the lightning has the same heads.

Okay QUESTION #2:

Are the mid-pipes on the lightning and the midpipes on a regular 5.4L F150 the same?
Or more exacting:
do they attach at the exhaust manifold at the same EXACT place?

yes the exhaust manifolds are the same so yes any header that is designed for an f-150 will work.
