s/c grease

i need to put my ported s/c back together but cant find anywhere on the boards on what kind of grease i need to use or where to buy it at. the two **** on the end of the rotors sit into the houseing and need some high friction grease. i sent off an email to magnuson about what kind to use and they said Rhea Temp 500 but didnt say where i can find some. anyone have any input as to what other kind of grease i can substitute the Rhea Temp 500 grease with or where i can go and buy some at? i only need a little bit to get the job done and am running around in circles with the search funtions on all the boards i have been searching through.

Good Luck my friend I got mine from Magnum Powers but I got my blower from them. From what I understand it is a proprietary item.

If you find a line on some please post it.

Peace,

heres what they said in their email

We buy it in large quantities and do not repackage it for resale. I can't recommend another lubricant as this is the only product recommended by Eaton.

Give me a google engine and a little time.....and guess at misspellings....

interesting bearing info:
http://www.qbcbearings.com/B610/PDF/B610T001.pdf

Your grease is Rheo Temp 500, manufactured by NYE Rheolube. It meets MIL-G-3278A, has an operating range of –65/350 degree F, uses a Diester oil base with a sodium thickener and is blue in color.

This grease can be obtained by special order from Quality Bearings & Components (http://www.qbcbearings.com/). It does not appear to be listed, so contact a sales rep (amazingly I mis-typed this as sleaze rap).

Gimme some more time and another Jack & Coke - I'll see what more damage I can do.

No sweat - Sometimes I get an urge and I'm like a dog with a bone...

Let us know what you find out. If there is a minimum quantity, what (if any) outlets distribute for them, all that goos crap.

This one strucka chord - may be a good call #2 after your local guy...

After application of the BS filter:

"We have a whole buttload of this stupid grease of which there are countless substitutes -- after all, we are just talking freakin grease. But we don't want to give out even an ounce to anyone nor suggest any of the thousands of available substitutes because they should be sending their blower to us anyway because we are the exclusive Eaton repair facility. So f*ck off, cheapskate. Hope your blower seizes."

Thanks Suavy

and Tim - exactly why I was "inspired" to search. With the data sheets and MSDS, exact and relevant comparisons can be drawn.
