Plymouth Michigan? Hmmm... another roadtrip?

I like the 01-02 the best because of the rims. I dont like the 03-04 rims at all but the 99-00 rims in 20" crome look very nice.

The 03-04 L's have more spark plug threads so thats a big plus.

If it was me I would get an 01 and with the money you save get a built motor (which would fix the popping plug issue) and allow oyu to make a lot more power.

They may have been the manufacturer all these years, but something DID change in 01. I compared the rods from my 99 to the rods from my 01, and they ARE differences visually. The part number did not change at Ford, meaning they were intended to be the same thing, but SOMETHING changed in the manufacturing process in 01. And this is not limited to the Lightnings either. Fellow tuners have told me they saw the same thing on the Mustang GT motors between 99-00 and 01-up.

BTW, the 01-04 have the same rods, nothing was changed for 03-04.

The real difference is that the 99-00 ran very rich and maybe that made them safer.

I asked this before but got no answer, are there any difference in electronics in 2004? Will a 2004 computer fit in a 2001 with the pats re-programmed?

2004 Ls are the best from what Ive heard. I agree that the 2001 rims are the best looking.

Yup, they look just like mine

I like them the best because to me they look the most "truck" like and look beefy which suits the Lightnings IMHO. But everyone has their own taste.

Whats the point of having a forum if people cant ask questions? Even though the question may have been asked before, sometimes people just want to ask.

Nice emblem on that grill...

Did you remove the gap between the bumper and the grill? or is it the picture?

the 01-up is rated for more HP (380 vs. 360) and every body uses that as an argument for a decision but they seem to be fairly equal in track times and their numbers at the dyno. This is even closer when you compare trucks with the same mods, regardless of year model, they seem to run very close.
