Did they make QC's with a manual tranny? I thought they were all automatics. I would think the autos turn quicker times.

It was a left over 04. And yes I know this is a lightning forum and I was a Lightning owner at one point so I'm not trying to talk the srt up or anything but the shifter is not as bad as everyone thinks. The throws are very close to what they were on my 03 cobra with a stock shifter. I don't see it running much better than very high 13's in the 1/4, it is huge compaired to my lightning. I used to be able to reach then entire roof of the lightning when washing it, on the srt I can't even come close. It is fun but way to expensive to mod to besides a cat-back it will probably stay stock and slow.

I bet that guy 300 at Capital he couldn't get it in the 14's first pass while his nephew told me it was gonna go 12's.

I won.

good question. The one that I saw I assumed was manual because of the horrible shifting. He could have been shifting his auto manualy?I only asked him what mods he had out the window before the race from a roll.He had a-pillar guages so I thought he might have something done.

The SRT-10 is kinda like a lost leader at the front door of your local wal-mart. There really is'nt any point to the whole thing except to stir the pot up.

I'll be keeping my lightning thank you,

Rich

Near me there's a New Silver '04 SRT - $42K on the windshield. Most likely work them down on that number too.

All Quad Cabs are Autos. All Regular Cabs are 6 speeds.

So far, I think the best a Bone Stock QC owner has reported is 13.4x at about 103 (not 100% on the mph?).

Speaking of manual, he did miss a shift one time. But he was already behind me before he went for that gear.

The best thing is that most of the SRT-10 guys automatically assume they are Lightning killers. Granted, rolling against a stock L, the SRT has it all day long. But this guy seems convinced he can reel me in and wants to race again, but he wants to start at 70 and go to infinity. A little crazy if you ask me. I already told him that I believe I don't have anything for him top end. He has 505 cubic inches of motor, no wonder why they claimed the "fastest" truck title.

I'm thinking a 100 shot of nitrous on a 109 MPH L would keep a turbo SRT at bay? Maybe not......

Actually that is not true. I have beat two SRT-10's with my stock Lightning...

Granted it was by about 1/2 to 2/3 a truck length, but nonetheless I was in front...

Oh, and no they did not miss a shift and neither did I...

I was happy as a pig in poop when the SRT-10 came out, because I thought for sure Ford would up the ante on the Gen III. I guess we know how that worked out.....
