New Saleens are out. How do we fare?

OK guys....I saw TWO 05 Saleen Mustangs rollin' down the street today. (Both had window stickers in them). I don't know anything about the 05's, how do they compare to our Lightnings as far as 1/4 mile times?

Under the hood, the Mustang GT's 4.6-liter V8 engine is massaged to produce 325 horsepower, 25 more than stock. To get a real performance boost, try the Saleen S281-SC's 400-horsepower supercharged version of this motor. True power mongers with fatter wallets will want to wait for the upcoming Saleen S281-E, which the company says will generate a whopping 500 horsepower.

I think the 05 mustangs themselves with minimal mods will take most Lightnings.

My buddy's 05 was the first in the 10s (jug) and the first in the 11's NA.

Gears, exhaust (stock manifolds), shifter, clutch, CAI, BFG's, and tune. That's it!!!!

I was following a black one today through town. It still had the sticker on the window.
Strangely though, he didn't want any of the lightning. He also had his young child in the car so....

I think I gave his kid whiplash when I took off and the supercharger started to scream though. That kid whipped his head around so fast

The L is fast no doubt, but it seems that power is becoming a bigger selling point these days and cars that are comming out are kind of 'ho-hum' if they are above 13sec 1//4 mile. Unfortunatly a lot of new cars rolling out are near the Lightning. This is why we all must invest in turbos
