Fading paint

My trucks tail-gate,and half of the bed is always in the sun in my carport, and I have no garge door. Is the paint going to fade as easily as I think it will? What should I do to prevent this? Is there any tips ya'll have? Thank you!

That's not going to stop fading.

What color is your L? *(nevermind, just saw your sig...)* Certain colors are more suseptable to fade... Silver and Red, namely...

You may want to think about putting a simple car cover on it when sitting for a day or more.

Both of the above suggestions are about all you can do. Keep a cover over it if it's not a daily driver. If it is a D/D put a good coat of wax on it every few weeks.

I use Meguiar's NXT and it has UVA and UVB blockers in it like a sunscreen. It is said to resist fading but that's about all you can do.

a good quality wax will protect your paint from the sun fading. but with red it's still inevitable

I think I'll put some of that on me at WFC to keep the sunburn down

I just bought a beater car. My red won't fade to bad in the garage.

Two ideas:

1. Awning.

2. Park tail-in half of the time.
