Gauge cluster malfunctioning

Recently the gauge cluster on my 01 L has been taking awhile to light up. It doesn't seem based on time, but after driving for a few minutes or so it'll suddenly turn on as if nothing happened.

Turn the lights/truck off and the whole process repeats itself. No longer under warranty so I'm trying to find a fix for it myself, has anyone had a similar problem?

Yep I had the same thing 6 months ago my L only had 3k on the clock then.
in the end a sparky fixed it, it ended up to be chip on the back on the cluster that was at fault and had to be replaced, you can not replace the whule cluter as it is programmed to the truck and it will enable the imobiliser and u cant start it but the chip n the back done the job.
