wonder if this would work guys

Whats up guys. I have a bit of a delema. I currently had my drive shaft dented up. I guess my problem is two parts. First, if my truck is not vibrating at all not even on the hwy do I need to replace it. Second, I talked to some guys that can get me a salvaged one from a regular F-150 will this fit on a 2002 lightning. If it will and doesnt take away from performance then that will definatly save me like $600. What do all ya'll think. Thanks

I'm pretty sure the Lightning d/s is different than a reg. f150. also, it depends on the size of the dents, and esp. if your truck is modified. if the dents are relatively large, and you are pushing some good power, then the dents will create some stress concentrations, which you don't want.

I have not moded at all. And the dent is not severe enough to cause any vibrations. I was told two different things from two different mechanics one said that if I dont feel vibration dont worry about it and the other said that yes replace it.

Ever seen a vehicle catupult over the driveshaft? Not a pretty sight.

I wouldn't drive it, and that is something I wouldn't want to cut corners on replacing either.

beter to be safe than sorry. You can buy an aluminum driveshaft from LFP for 385 shipped... not sure where you get the 600 figure? If you have a 99-00 you'd be upgrading to the 01+ 5" aluminum, whereas it would have been a 3.5" steel piece on the early gen 2s.
edit: just saw that you have an 02 L so you already have the alum. one
