depending on who you talk to, you will get a different answer from each person. I had JDM's full exhaust and I loved the sound of it! Bassani makes a quality product as well... I know that JDM uses 409 SS for their headers and now their catbacks, I am not sure what bassani uses....

Go Bassani.... I highly dislike my JDM catback. It has been a disappointment since it first arrived. If cost is an object, order the Magnaflow exhaust

I have a JDM cat-back(single Magnaflow, internal X-pipe, BIG tips) that I had installe 3 or 4 years ago on my 2001 L. I love it. It fit and has been fault-free over the years.

Same here, but dual magnaflows. Bought it about 8 months ago and it fit perfectly. Sounds awsome and I highly recomend it.

Looks good too.........

If you don't like Bassani's SS price go with the BX series. I did...got mine for $440 shipped. You don't really need SS unless you live in an area in which you would benefit from it (i.e. salt air) or it'll be in the show circuit. I mainly decided on sound though...besides Flowmaster, I liked the Bassani sound the most...

explain the sound of the JDM exhaust. Is it:

1. Loud and obnoxious sounds (like glass pack mufflers)
2. Low growl
3. Does it have a Tone? (Like MAC cat back)
4. Does it have a raspy tone? (like bassani catback)
5. Does it have a metal tingy sound? (like flolwmasters on a mustang)

I have the JDM cat/bac system. It makes a 331 cu. in. motor sound like a big block, AKA deep growl. Mine is one of the origionals that seems to not be all stainless. But the fit was good, the only thing is if you do a lot of long trips, it can get to be a bit to loud. Hope this helps Artie

At idle it is a DEEP low growl. (My dog barks at it!)
It does totally have that old big block sound....wild for a low compression small displacement engine.
Not raspy or sharp
When you get on it, it IS loud. But it sounds sooooo sweet! The best thing I can compare it to, is an offshore speed boat with dual V-8's, when you come up out of the water, and plane out and you hear both V8s syncing out as the props bite through the water. I Think the similar sound is caused by the X-pipe in the exhaust.

I dont have one but I want one. Ive always like JDM, they (like all the other supporting vendors on here) seem like an honest company. Id say go for it, and if you dont like it you can always sell it to me, at a discount price of course.

I had one of the original versions and did not like it. Poor quality. That could very well have changed by now.
