Did any of you notice that ur turning radius increased and now it makes a clunk and pop noise when u turn the wheel all they way? I am not happy with the belltech spindles, I just had a alignment done again and it still sucks....And anyone had any fix for this please help, I dont even want to drive it.

Which sway bars are you using?

Stock swaybar, stock springs, 3inch shackles and 22 inch wheels.

True, this may be your problem:

Check that your tie-rods aren't touching your sway bar when turning your wheel full to either side. This could limit your steering and give you the impression that the turning radius is limited.

I had this issue with the Hotchkis bar. The solution is to install longer end links at cost of about $10. If its just touching, you could add a washer on each side to the end link spacer.

Let me know,

TB

Will check...Thanks. Did you notice any difference in ur steering tightness? Mine seems loose after installing the spindles. Will check the swaybar now.

Properly installed spindles should have no effect on steering tightness. 22" wheels and H rated tires might???? give you that impression. Radius, caster and camber should not be changed with the spindles to my knowledge.

Nice to see things somewhat working out here, I've been thinking of moving to the spindles and stock springs with the spacers Tim was talking about to get a progressivish (not a word?) ride. lol.

I've not had as much time for racing, but I'd like to cruise the truck on weekends and the race suspension is starting to take its toll with the metro area pothole roads.

Checked sway bar and anything I could tighten under there. The truck still doesnt handle correct. My Jeep wrangler handles better. I dont know what happend to this truck? Does anyone know a suspension guy in the New Jersey area who deals with lightnings that I could take it to. I havent drove it in like 6 months because of this.

It's right below Newark.

true2002 - aside from the turning radius and the clunk/pop noises does it do anything else differently? Did you try turning the wheel all the way like TB suggested and make sure the tie rod isn't hitting the swaybar?

Belltech obviously doesn't know their **** from a hole in the ground. If someone tells me to just "grind it down, it will fit" the parts are going RIGHT BACK.

Working on my internship under the great and ubiquitous Timmay ... < grin >
