god damn it!!! It never ends!!!

Stop at the local car wash today to do a quick washup. So i'm cleaning up the engine bay which i haven't touched all year and and walk around the side of the truck and look.............friggen front passenger tire is almost to the ground!!! I knew something didn't feel right.

So there goes cleaning the truck. Drive down a couple lots and fill the tire. My tire guy happens to be another couple lots down. Run down there. We inspect the tires and the dry rot cracking is out of control. I notice a decent amount of cracks a month or so back but i can't believe how much it has worsened. Sucks because there is like 3/4 tread left on these front tires. But they are the original tires (2000) so i'm guessing it's time. Dont' want to be taken any chances.

Anyhow, just wondering what you guys are paying for F1's. I'm paying 210 a piece which i thought was reasonable for these, and he's basically mounting and balancing them for nothing. Even if it was high, he takes care of me all the time. He mounted my nitto drags and wouldnt' charge me and i didn't even get them from him.

Just wondering how much these fuel prices are effecting tire prices around.

By the way, 93 is up to almost 270 a gallon here in the Boston area.

Sounds like a good deal mounted. I just paid $896 for 2 555r's and 2 555's for the truck. That is shipped to my door, but I'll need to add on mounting.

Yeah

just did some research and it looks like 215-220 is what everyone is getting for them, then you have to add in shipping and mounting and balancing and new valve stems and yada yada.......

Looks like i'm in a good situation.

sounds like a great deal. btw, do you put a lot of "tire shine" type of stuff on your tires? coming from the motorcycle scene where tire condition is far more critical, i am reluctant to put much of anything on my tires as the chemicals can do some nasty things to the rubber.

Gas - I will pay tonight $3.15 in Northern VA so 50 bucks and there are some area's are as high as $3.60 for 92.

Tires -
$210 is a good price I am looking at $270 to $305 a peace not to include the other BS. $305 was at NTB.

To much tire shine i.e. Black Magic's Tire wet are not suppose to be done every week to much use will cut your tires life to about a year. That is what almost every tire god tells me.

Well Slick_Sammy your right Northern VA is over rated but it pays very well. That is the only reason I was able to get this Lightning. I leave about 75 Miles from work in Orange Co. VA to Rosslyn everyday. So are you near Blacksburg?
