Post "99" Red Lightning for Sale....Soon....

Ok...it's about that time.....I'm about to order a Y2K Lightning and will have the "99" Red for sale. I'm going to keep it for about another month (while I have another truck painted). Truck will have less than 9000 miles on it.....Viper alarm, soft top, cd changer, towing package, superchip and Sal's filter kit. Thinking of a price around + or - $25,000. If you guys know of someone interested let me know....later......

Hey Tybee, you should be able to get more than $25,000 for your Bolt, I had a dealer pay me $27,000 for mine here in California, and he re-sold it four days later for $29,995
My mileage was 6,000 although he told me that as long as it was under 12,000 he could sell them all day long, since supplies are low/non-existent and the 2000 are not coming any time soon, especially if you want a Lightning, and you are the average car guy with an average car guys amount of patience..ya right....whats patience??????? Good Luck!!

Hey if you really want to get a good price NOW is the time to sell it! There are still a few months lfet before the new ones come out so you will get a much better price. There are some people who wont want to wait for the new ones & will pay more $$ now for a used one than just b4 tne new ones come out

TybeeC5,

Just curious -- Why would you want to sell your low mileage '99, take a hit on the price, then buy an almost identical higher priced '00? I'm guessing it'll cost you $6,000-7,000 to do the deal ($32,000 less $25,000), not counting the "extras" you've installed on the '99.

FYI

I just looked at a used 99.5 Lightning in town with 13000 miles on it (one of only two in town here). The original owner (a used car salesman) was trying to sell it for $33,000... It's been sitting on his lot for several months, so I don't think he's in any hurry (obviously, based on his asking price).

Mike......one of the perks of my business is a new truck each year....so I really don't have to worry to much about taking a hit....I could decide to keep it another year, but usually I don't.......I only have about 8K miles on this truck, but have been trouble free miles thus far.....later......

Cool, Tybee!

BTW, the '56 sure looks good in Blue. Not as many of those around as red ones. Red would look killer, of course, but to me blue just seems to better suit the mid-fifties retro look. Stylin' and smilin'!

Think Turquoise, Philpott, Turquoise.

I lusted after those so much at the time. I graduated from High School in '57 in CA., and one of our school's cheerleaders had one. Daddy was the town Doctor and she got anything she wanted.

Too bad that now I could probably afford one, I can't stretch and bend as well as I used to and that vintage Vette isn't practical. I'll bet Tybee gets in and out only in his garage!

Well, Bill, I finished high school in '64. The Beatles were big; Chevy was rightfully bragging about its 409 ("she's real fine"); Ford's 427 was powering its Galaxy 500 around Daytona's tri-oval; Plymouth was offering a 426 wedge drag racing package on its stripper Belvadere for around $400; and a GTO with a hi-po 389, 4-speed and three duces was the ultimate babe magnet for the many who couldn't even afford to think about a Turquoise Corvette. And my dream car was my best friend's cherry '57 Bel Aire with a power pack 283. Good memories!

Tybeec5...I'm very interested in the red '99.
I'm the one that is driving Greenbean, the 77F150, that is about to be driven off of the nearest cliff. I really don't want to spend the money to get a new or rebuilt tranny on the thing. I would rather put that money towards the greatest truck ever built. Are you still interested in selling the '99? Please let me know.
