Post Last night at HRP....

You asked for it, you got it. Several of us Lightning types got together last night at Houston Raceway Park, and had a ball beating up the F bodies (there was a ton of 'em around). I beat every one I ran and there were some seriously unhappy campers after I got through with 'em.

I did get to make some passes on the bottle, I am having traction problems even with the Cal-Tracs on the truck and pre-loaded. I don't think this a problem with the setup, it is the operator whose headspacing needs adjustment.

I did manage one good run last night and the timeslip info follows:
RT: .088 (instant green tree)
60FT: 1.964
330FT: 5.529
1/8: 8.465
MPH: 84.14
1000FT: 11.010
1/4: 13.162
MPH: 104.85

Now, if I take all the excess wieght off the truck (BedRug, tonneau cover, tailgate, spare tire, me). This thing will probably run in the low to mid 12's. That 80hp shot really kicks the Beast in the butt and makes her fly.

Last night we got home and the Beast had a full tummy, full of Camaros and Firebirds! It was a hoot, most of those guys wouldn't even talk to me after the runs, they just ran for the pits and hid.

My son got some video footage and if I can find someone w/video capture hardware, I will try to make some short AVI files available.

Thumbs up

Good runs! Was sure you would get down in the 12's. Like you said though, lose some of the weight and you'll be there.

Wyldman,

I'm beating on the arms of this chair for you!! I knew picking on you long enough would "get the lead out" and get you to the track.

Nice job and better times will come!

Red face

Way to go Wyldman!!!!!

I like kicking "F" Bodies around.
Sounds like you might be launching a little to hard. Back off the rpm a little and let the tires hook up. Wis I could have been there, it sounds like fun.

I don't bet on a lot of things. Especially those things that are too complex for the known universe to understand such as; Heavyweight Title bouts, the Cowboys, Ditka, and a former world championship team also known as...

da

Bearssss.

Well speaking of "possible problems" with the universe, it seems that on DEC 24th, at the superdome in New Orleans, Da Boys are coming to town to meet with Da former boy &bear, "Da coach himself,,,, one Mike Ditka.
Rev. Danny Werfel will be praying and singing carols on the sideline,as da coach spoils any chance for a cowboy wildcard spot.
And since we don't gamble on anything in New Orleans, i will make a prediction:

Da Boys 2 ( Rev Werfel)
Da Coach 101

and people are worried about Y2K

just to keep this F-150 related, i plan on attending this Armagetton Bowl in my 97 4.2L
f-150 xcab beat to sh*t delivery truck

You have possibly overlooked, my friend, the very real possibility that da coach, one Mike Ditka, may spontaneously combust on or before the afore mentioned date with the Cowboyssss in da dome. Until that day, may I suggest that you eat copious amounts of chili cheese fryssss and drink many beerssss in hopes that this heinous event does not take place. Surely a coronary of this magnitude would wreak havoc with the current order of the universe as we know it.

Also, to stay on topic -

I, however, will not be driving my F-150 Lightning (past HRP where Wyldman clocked a 13.162 his first time out) to this event. My recently lowered ride would not fare well on the wonderful highways and byways of the great state of Louisiana.

May your Turkey Day be a happy one my friend.

You my good man are a prophet. Ditka lives.
I left the house at the end of the third quarter just knowing Da Boys would find a way to ****** defeat from the jaws of victory and it appears I was not disappointed. I to decided to take the Valk out for a little spin. Nice day; 60 degrees F, not bad for Christmas Eve.

Wink

sixpipes, i too, took advantage of the weather, and took the valk out for a spin, only to come home to find that the forces in the universe had indeed come together. did ditka play at all, or did they need him.

Ditka did not play. But....

neither did Da Boys.

Thanks for the complement Yoda. BBQ and I seem to have similar interests in a lot of things. Merry Christmas to everyone! Santa's got to get to work.
