Brimstone

I bought a pair of BFG 255/50/16 Drag Radials from the Tire Rack on 16" late model F-150 Ford chrome steel spoked rims (takeoffs) for about $420, which included shipping. If you call them, ask for Luke, he's the only motorhead in the group. Don't go the 15" route, they won't work.

Lightning Bob,

Thanks, I went to the BFG site and picked out that size too. That seems to be the closest we can come to the "correct" size at this point.

I will give Tire Rack a call. I'm looking for aluminum wheels though.

Hey guys, Sal here. I spent a lot of time on the tire subject. 15" rims won't clear the rear 13" rotor's calipers. Not only that, but nobody makes a 15" rim with the 5 x 135mm bolt pattern, so even if they did fit, you'd have to get blank rims custom drilled.

I've located a pair of 320/50R15s at a relatively near by tire shop. Overall tire diameter is pretty close to stock. Main concern is will 15" wheels have enough clearance for rotors? I notice some of you are using 16s. Is that already a tight fight or do you still have room?

Thanks,
Mike

Brimstone,

I don't think 15" rims will clear the brakes. The smallest I've seen are the 16" on the G2 L's.
