Angry The Lightning took a direct hit....accident...sucks

I was coming down a major highway and was sitting behind a Vette at a light. We got the left hand arrow and made a left. About 40 ft after the turn the vette pulled over to the curb. I didnt know if he was stopping or pulling into a parking lot so I got into position to go around him and all of a sudden he decides to pull freaking uturn right in front of me. I locked the brakes up and pulled hard to the left and my front left came into contact with his front right doing about 15-20 mph. I got out of the car and was firing off every f variation under the sun. Screaming at him. I think he thoughtI was going to kill him because he pretty much stood there with his hands in his pockets.

Took a police report and the cop pretty much said he was in the wrong for making the uturn. My truck is now damaged goods. I think its all cosmetic. No fluids leaking. Doors and hood open and close no problem but man, Im not happy about this. Just something else to deal with.

I think he was pretty shaken up about because he said he was lost and didnt think anyone was that close to him to pulled the uturn. Older gent who like me, never takes the truck out. He had a 9 vette that was pretty much perfect. He said it was his first day out in months.

I just put a Rouch kit in it 2 weeks ago.

Damn man, that sucks. Don't you just hate idiots? Good luck with the repairs.

Edit, I never knew the amber piece in our stockers was a glue in piece.....hmmm DIY clear corners.

Sorry to hear that man. I recently got nailed by a drunk driver and my truck is most likely totalled, 17,500 and still counting, so it could always be worse. Hope everything works out for you.

Yeah, it was pretty much flawless. Garage queen. Just picked the wrong day to take it out.

I certainly can understand your pain/frustration... Thankfully you were not injured...

Speaking from experience, the only thing that I can recommend to make the situation somewhat more bearable is to get some sort of exterior mods done while the L is getting fixed... For instance, this would be a great time to add an aftermarket hood...

Good luck with the repairs...

Very sorry to hear/read

Looks like you keep your truck in nice condition. You know the saying........Nobody got hurt and vehicles can be fixed.

I know its bullchit when its your pride and joy. Here's hoping everything turns out great and your truck is fixed better than before.
Good luck my brother

Thanks folks. While its in the shop, Im going to have them shave off the side badges, I never really liked them on the truck. Maybe the antenna also. Maybe I'll get nuts and have the door handles shaved while they are at it. I think that would look pretty sweet.

Will they have problems getting a replacement rim?

Yeah, and he didnt seem to have anywhere near the damage I did. I know F-150's arent known for withstanding front end impacts but I thought his car would of been worse off.
