Seat wear

My '03 Lightning has the same seat wear as my '99. Support bar on left side of seat cuts through foam and eventually seat cover. This was covered by warranty on my '99, but Ford is balking on my '03. Im wondering if this was handled under warranty, or not, on anyone else with the similar issue.

Thank you.

Steve

Mistergadget had it happen on his 03', and my 03 is starting to the same thing. I keep felling like I'm sliding out of the seat on right turns Gadget got his covered, so I'll be heading to the same dealer he did.

Unbelievably after fixing it under warranty on my '99 twice under 32,000 miles....the same dealer was refused by Ford on my '03. They send picture to Ford. Their response was that it was normal wear and tear. Bar complete wore thru seat cover. The '03 has 32,000 miles. I will try to call SVT on Monday.

My 02 with 22,000 miles on it is starting to do the same crap, it's through the foam and is starting to scuff the outer seat cover. I started to notice it right after my 3 years was up, YAHH For Me!!! I'm going to have a guy that does vehicle upholstery work fix it, he said he could glue the foam back together and put some kind of material patch over the tear on the top and bottom of the seat foam to hold the tear together. Then he is going to wrap the bar with some heavy fabric, to make it bigger so it won't wear as bad. He said he would do it for $40. Mine is not that bad yet but you can see the material is scuffed, and the color looks different from the rest of the seat. After i get this problem fixed, it's a set of Wet Okoles for me!!
