Aftermarket Tailgate is junk

I made the mistake of buying an aftermarket tailgate. It was about a third of the cost of the factory part. I did try it first to verify the fit, which was fine. Once it was painted and installed, I was pretty smug about the money I saved. That smugness was short lived. A couple days later, I had some yard trimmings to load and stepped up onto the tailgate. The inner surface of the tailgate buckled under my 185 pound weight. It also now has a dent on the outside where I pushed on it to close it! The steel looks to be the same thickness, but has a tensile strength that resembles butter. The manufacturer's logo looks like a pair of "L"s in a circle. Fortunately, this was on my '99 F-150, not on my Lightning. But that same company makes a Lightning replacement as well. So beware! My new one is coming from Ford.
