Question Questions for Sal???

Hey Sal,

I was wondering if you knew how to get the fog lights to turn on with only the parking lamps on?

Also I was considering new headers. Could you let me know if you have any hard numbers for the Bassani headers?

Thanks,
ROB

Ask, and ye shall receive Actually, it's not as easy as the early trucks to do this. The main problem is that the fog lamp switch is part of the main headlamp switch. You can't pull the fog lamp **** out until it reaches the headlamp position. Looking at the schematics, there are two possibilites. First one is you could have the fog lamps come on with a new switch. To do this, simply take a two prong switch, and wire one side to ground. For the other side, you will have to cut the solid yellow wire coming of the back of the main light switch, and wire that to the other side of the new switch. That should allow you to turn the fog lamps on or off anytime you choose, and it will also be full time power, not switched. The other thing you can do, is wire it so that the fog lamps come on with the parking lamps, but they will always be on. To do this, you will have to cut the solid yellow wire and splice it into the solid brown wire coming off the main light switch. This should make the fog lamps come on anytime the running lamps are on. Keep in mind that the GEM module monitors the main headlamp switch, so it may cause a code of some kind. Hope this helps.

Question

Hi Sal-

I hate to keep bugging you, but you seem to be a codex of Lightning wisdom...

Anyway, my question is: any idea if the foglight wiring info here is valid or appropriate for the 2000 models?

Thanks again,

~rick
