Cool

Grille came from the F-150 Online store. Roger Was very helpful as usual. I had the grille powder-coated for $60 at a local shop.
you might want to talk to Roger to make sure you get the two-piece discount and make sure he knows it's for a Lightning.

Unhappy

Hey sixpipes, i'm still having to slam hood a little harder than i like. i think i might have to add a couple of thin washers to the "u" shaped catch attached to the hood, to make it extend down enough to catch without slamming. what did you do?

the troubleshooting section of my instructions were missing
but i did like: step 1: "remove front of vehicle"

Ditto on the washers. I had to add about 1/8" to make it fit right.

You read the instructions? I always have my wife read them after I'm done so I'll know if I did it right or not.

Sixpipes- Your truck is getting to the point where it needs to be in a museum some where! I am out in Dallas right now. Surprise! The flights were full and the ticket prices ridiculous and we haven't seen the Grand Son in three weeks so we limbered up the Benz and made it here in 17 hours! Any way keep up the good work on your Lightning. You are inspiring us all.

Flats Man -

Thanks for the encouragement. It's become a curse. What's your schedule for Thursday or Friday PM?

17 hours is pretty good from Tampa!

Send me an E-mail or call.

I just got my Lightning front fascia kit today. Although I was unable to check the color of the grill (real heavy and packed deep in the box) I was able to pull out the bottom grille. It was unpainted. It wasn't bleyver...it was closer to grack or bley. If i didn't want to remotely make myself feel any better, I'd even say it was outright ornery gray.

As long as it's in the shop...it's getting a nice layer of primer and several coats of black.

Now if I can only get my hands on a Lightning engine and tranny.......

Twisted, I am hearing you! I can get them done by Trenz, but didnt think it would look as good as it does on Sixpipes! That truck is looking great! Maybe someday I can be proud and show off a few pictures of my truck once it is done! Email me or call and I will check!

The grill is 99% black powdercoated from the factory. the thin front strips are then polished to a chrome like finish. the flats and supports are already gloss black powdercoat. can't paint the Trends, it won't last. but it seems like it would save them some work, to send it out gloss black, b4 polishing, to those who want it like that. i paid $75 for mine to be coated. (guess they saw me coming, sixpipes )
