Question 2 quick questions

1) How can I remove the dealer's sticker from my truck? I have heard that you can somehow use a hairdryer to remove it, but am not sure on the specifics. I'm just not a big fan of a HUGE white sticker on the back of a black truck.

2) Do any of you Texas owners have a front license plate? I don't want one, but I think that Texas law says that I have to put one on. Just wondered if you know anything to the contrary.

Thanks in advance

DUCK

Yea, When you heat up the adhesive, it gets soft and the sticker will be easy to pull off. You might then have to clean it a little with some solvent-try mineral spirits-it's not too caustic on the paint, then wash it off. I also hate all the free advertising-I figured I paid them enough, they should pay me for the free ad. I put my sticker on my 58 ****** beater just to spite them .
Here in Colorado, we're also required to have a front tag. I put mine on cause I'm paranoid that way, but I know people who never have had one, and no one bothers them. It might be one additional violation if you got pulled over though.

Kent, Yes it is an additional citation, and no I still don't have one and I don't plan to. I did, but I have one of those dang rec truck tags *yellow on green* I said Forget this, I violate dozens of more important laws for them to worry about my front tag hehe

wax or wd-40 works great to get the adhesive off.

I have had my L here in TX for 7 months with no front plate. I was stoped for speeding and given a warning in Rockwall and the DPS officer told me to put it own. I also let a friend take a driving test in my car and the DPS officer made him lay the front plate on the dash. I see many trucks and cars without them. Until it cost me $ I won't have one.

Cool

Nothing I hate worse than a ugly A$$ dealer sticker on a beautiful truck.

As far as license plates on the front. The worse they do is give you a fine and tell you to put it on. If you tell them it never had a mount for it they have always let you go in my experiences.

I think my truck maybe one of the most illegal trucks in Colorado. No Converter, Non DOT headlights, No front license plate, Anti Photo radar license cover, and illegal tint.

Never had a ticket for any of the above. I'm with CA on this! I'd rather pay a fine than put a license plate on the front.

K_Schmidt: Was it you and your Lightning that was messing around on the drive from Loveland to Longmont? I was in the Red Syclone. It happened quite a while back.

Front plates **** in my opinion... and we're supposed to have them here in Ohio. But living in cincy we have within miles both kentucky and indiana which are rear plate only states, no one ever gets a ticket around here that I've heard of. But it give the cops a great excuse to check for DUI on fridays and saturday nights...

Glad I don't drink and drive

Now time for the all important question. How the heck do I take my front plate off. (the bracket). Ive looked at it a few times and saw that it was drilled through the bumper. I really dont want 2 hole in the front of my truck.. Any suggestions.

I think the only reason why some states requires a front plate is for revenue. Ever wonder how cops catch you on radar when they are off to the side of the road? Yep that reflective license plate. It was designed for that. Without it, they can't clock as easily. My .o2

I had my bumper cover off this weekend. the std cover has 2 dimples to mark the bracket holding threaded nuts behind the cover. if the holes are already drilled for a bracket, you are going to have to fill them in.

Pacecar18,
No, it wasn't me. I've played with a few vehicles, but none that were really worthy of being a L competitor like a Syclone. I've seen a couple of other L's in town, but haven't seen any posts here from them.

The L did pretty good against my truck for what I'm assuming was just a stock L. I wanted him to follow me into the gas station to check out his truck, but no luck. Oh well! If your into it CA might come up to Longmont to show the locals whats up and your more than welcome to show up as well. Take care

Cool

I just put a couple of black rubber plugs from the local hardware store in the holes. Click on the link below to see the front bumper plugs.
