this post surprised me quite a bit. And I do agree I feel bad for the people that paid sticker +. If the gen 3 lightning ever did come out it would have been very similar in performance to the srt, and the current lightning. Those new f150's are heavy monsters. At least dodge is still building them.

My 2 cents...

I am a Ford fan, but I do think the Dodge SRT-10 is still American Muscle. It's a powerfull *** truck, a bit over rated I think, but a nice truck. But when it comes to racing, the Lightning was built right. Ford SVT has always had thier mind on the track, not just how much power they can cram into a big *** truck. On a 1-10 scale, SRT-10 = 7 SVT L = 9.

just watched it

They raced at 4700 ft and the Dodge was right on their factory quarter mark but the lightning was a half second slower?

I just don't see how they made it through the course faster in the SRT then the Lightning. Every time them powered it out of the corner, the *** end came around.

I like the SRT truck and I would buy one, I just don't think that show was as accurate as real world stats go. A little dodge bias I believe.

The Dodge Dealer down the street has a half dozen SRT's that have been sitting there since I moved in my apartment in APRIL!!! They keep moving them around but they are the same trucks.

Here's the funniest. They had an 02 red lightning on the lot used. It wasn't there even a week and it was gone!!!

If I was an SRT10 owner, I would be PISSED if I paid sticker for mine and now they are 33k new. God love 'em, they try every way possible to justify getting phucked that hard, only to have that lowely cheap azz Lightning kick dat azz.
I like the way they look and if I didnt have the Lightning would buy one @ 33k! I think they will be woth alot of money one day. Hell, look at all the 69-70 chargers, roadrunners,GTX's, cudas, etc. You cant find a decent one for under 20k and the Hemi Cudas are worth a million or so. Who would of thought................

the reason I called the SRT-10 a turd is due to the fact that the sticker was 50k and I didn't see anyone get one into the 12's stock, and after a few bolt ons to a stock Lightning, chip pulley filter, they run 12's and are still roughly 20k cheaper, 33k sounds more reasonable for the SRT-10, but I still wouldn't ever buy one no matter the price

Well, faster of the trucks really depends on the driver. We all know that there are a few L's, completely stock that have ran low, low 13's at the track. I believe that is faster than the SRT-10 stated times. So there you go on that as well as price and HP. A Lightning with 500 HP would run very low 12's and in the 11's, the SRT in the mid 13's. Go figure that one out.

SRT10's runs ring's around Lightning's stock to stock on anything but the
drag strip. Sorry, it's true ... and the interiors are VERY sweet.

weight? damn thing is like 5500lbs. If a gen 3 existed it would be about the same weight.

yeah that definitely is weird, even with the GVWR of the SRT-10 is only like 500lbs or so heavier than a Lightning

So far I've seen 4 SRT/10's at the track all running 13.1-13.3s stock. I know in my '04 L I went 13.43 and don't know of that many stock L's that are much faster.

Glad to see the price is coming down on the SRT/10's might see more and more on the streets

Where are you seeing these SRT10's running low 13's? Ive run at Ennis,Hallsville, and Rusk and havent seen any of them get out of the high 13's
on a good night. Not doubting you,Ive just never seen it in stock form. They may be telling you they're stock, but Id venture to guess otherwise.

mine went 13.60 @107 it's really hard to launch. One other note on the road course data, the SRT does well because of the weight distribution, its 52%-48% due to the relatively light all aluminum motor.
