Cool 6 CD changer problem.....

Soon I will have a 6 CD changer and few real preferences with regard to music. I am looking for help in compiling a few Speed related CD's. I have a CD burner and would like to put a couple CD's together that have up tempo - "performance compatible" music. I remember a song in the early 80's that always made me feel like opening the 4 barrels on the 74 Camaro I had. Trouble is until I heard it again I would have no idea who the artist was. So I am looking for suggestions of songs to add to compilation.

The few CD's I currently own are Robert Cray, Moody Blues, Eric Clapton etc. So Any suggestions ?

Thanks in Advance

When you get a chance, I suggest Eye of the Tiger - Survivor (Rocky soundtrack, also heard in Bloodsport) Its one of the best 80s hits. If you like rap, DMX is good, so is the new Dr. Dre. Eminem is a new fellow, he just one best new rap artist, and he is white! I also listen to some classical piano, Buena Vista Social Club (Cuban), Jewel (from Alaska). Throw in some old Santana, also. Thats what I listen to. Don't forget Red Hot Chili Peppers...

Here are the songs I will have ready when I go to pick up my L: Van Halen "Dreams", Sammy Hagar "I can't drive 55", and of course the theme song to Top Gun "Highway to the danger zone". I think those ought to about cover my emotional state of mind when I one day pick it up.

I'm not going to suggest any music, but I would like to just mention that if you use "homemade" CDs, do not use them in the changer if you put the stick on lables on them. We get a lot of jammed changers at the dealership for this, and Ford has actually made a special service message about it.

Sal,
Thanks for the info! I was about to take a few CDs w/ those labels w/ me when I go pick my L up tomorrow. I may be just me, but listening only to the radio for 850 miles doesn't seem appealing to me.

Been to both a Pennywise concert, and a NOFX concert. Man what a blast. The Pennywise concert was a first for Anchorage, and they underestimated the strength of the crowd, 6ft high wall, 5 ft form the stage. I crowd jumped. WILD. Then as the concert went on, everyone got onstage. All concerts after that they had a 10ft clearance between wall and stage. Stole a t-shirt from a security dude, too. best $19.50 I've spent for a concert

ooh boy, I listen to mostly rap in the L...but I do crank the heavy stuff, Korn, staind, pantera, powerman etc etc etc....my girlfriend is always throwing in dru hill and n sync...but for one kick booty song, grab "cars" by fear factory. For music...since you have a cd burner as do I, go to http://www.napster.com, download that, and you will be able to get any mp3 file you desire, you name it they have it. Download those, then convert them to wav or cd files and burn them. I have over 300 regular cds, and about 75 cdrs full of everything from clarence carters strokin (as in the nutty professor) to andrea Bocellis time to say goodbye. If you have not noticed I love all kinds of music and Im rambling, thus I end...

Silver Soon,

How about:

Can't Drive 55 ---Hagar
Cars -- Fear Factory (Orig Gary Numan)
Some VH...Panama..Beautiful Girls
Career of Evil..BOC
Some Satriani (Flying in a Blue Dream)
Some Vai (Juice, Attitude Song, Passion & Warfare)
Brian Setzer Orchestra

New kids on the Block.....Yeah..Right

There are some really good assorted CD's coming out now. Screamers of the 80's....Lost hits of the 80's....

As Sal mentioned DO NOT put labels on the CD's you make. Been there...Done that...Took the changer apart to remove little bits of labels.

Enjoy the ride

Cool

Gotta second the motion for "Radar Love" by Golden Earring.

Another one to set the mood - "Stop Making Sense" the live album by The Talking Heads - excellent beat for cruisin' hard.

Can't think clearly - too early in the morning.

These are some great ideas. Some of the others I have never heard of but if I can find the MP3's I will take a listen.
Now to http://www.napster.com to see what I can find.....

I use a sharpie marker on my CDR's. I am not fancy enough to need or want labels... Thanks for the warning though. Keep the suggestions coming I got 3 or 4 More CD's to fill
