Cool New here..hi all

Hi everyone I found this site recently and have been thru most of the old posts and am very glad that I found it. I have a Black 99 L with aprrox 9500 miles no problems to date cept the baldness of my tires. I thought the stang was rough on tires. damn! I traded a beautiful 93 LX 5.0 notch in for my truk back in aug 99. I miss the stang but I needed a tow vehicle for the other one and didnt want to sacrifice power. If anyone is near the Bradenton/Sarasota area of Florida please get in contact with me. We race at Desoto Dragstrip almost every Friday sometimes Tuesdays. Speed Safely

Hey Cobra,

Looks like we have the same taste in vehicles!

My Lightning IS a tow vehicle. Towed with it just 2 weeks ago, and it was a very smooth ride. Very capable truck.

Curious as to how much boost you're making from your Y-trim on your 331. I'm still running an S-trim on mine (also SVO A4 block), and putting 2500 miles on it a year!!
Street cars rule!

Good luck this racing season,

Hello again and a big thanx to all of those who replied. In response : I run my car in true street but unfortunately they wont be having it this year in Bradenton because of too many people?? Messed up but i understand. I`ll have to travel to race. May hit Gainseville and Atlanta. My car makes 20psi boost. It still has trouble hooking up which explains the mph being so high. Duznt hook till the 100ft mark or so. It is going to run 9`s before its done. Im putting 72lb injectors in this week due to continous blown head gaskets . The 50`s cant hang on here in florida. I got a leak in one airbag which is causing the traction slip . Ill get to it. I used to have an S-trim it was flawless.. wish i would have kept it i wouldnt have so many broken parts. Anyhow I got a ram air hood for my L from Cervinis it looks really nice. Anyone know when they will have an airbox for it??? see ya

Hey Chris,

I run True Street too, but just for fun b/c high-10s isn't competitive. I'm near Dallas. Actually finished 5th of 95+ cars at the event here in October.

I can only figure they're not doing it at the Spring Break Shootout b/c there's just so many other classes. I know the TS field is big there, too, but it must have more to do with the total number of cars that race that particular weekend...not just b/c of 100+ True Street participants.

Anyway, I'm running 50lb injectors right now also and sit at 586rwhp. My trap speed is up there too, but the ET isn't too hot b/c of suspension issues...but, that's the way I built it. The thing carves corners. Sounds like your wise to move to 72s. If I step up to a T-trim or a YS-trim, I'll have to do the same. Are you running just one big Paxton/SX/Cartech pump or are you moving to two pumps to feed the 72s? Have you sumped the tank yet? I've heard two of the big pumps are necessary to feed anything over a 50lb injector. Your thoughts?

And last ?... what trans are you running?

Best of luck this season, and don't be afraid to tow that bad boy with your '99 L. It will do a superb job.

Drop me an IM sometime.

I'm at Wa2fsT@aol.com
