discoloring under floor mat

Back on topic, I checked mine and it has the sticky stuff. It occurs to me that it is probably put there on purpose to keep the mat from sliding around. I see no down side to leaving it there, so I am not going to mess with it.

Just went out and checked mine. I have the exact same problem. So I pulled out my handy dandy fix it all in one can and cleaned it right off the bottom of the floormat and the insert on the carpet. I used WD-40, it worked like a charm. It was kind of a gooey sticky substance and the
WD-40 dissolved it with just alittle rubbing. I then used some Simple Green to remove the WD-40 residue.
