I usually do what I say, so stay tuned even if it takes a couple of years.
That man has inspired me beyond belief!
I have a '56 F100 that is rusted through at the front fenders, has been painted with a mop at least three colors and has enough dents to win anyone's ugliest truck contest.
Currently, it runs a 300 cu in inline six fully modified with headers, triple side draft Webers and so on. About 300 hp, and would probably turn in the 14's when running right.
I still have the Lightning crate motor and I am beginning to get some really brutish ideas. I would like to get some more info on Uncle Jessies truck if anyone has it.
Encourage me troops!
Bill

Bill, the truck has a 460 with an overbore. Do not know what compression he is running, but it does run pump gas. 3:73 geared 9". He probably had slicks on it at the track, but he runs mud grips on the street. It is his daily driver. Roller rockers, medium hi-rise intake, 1050cfm carb. I've seen it run 6.50's in the 1/8th on the mud grips. Built it all himself. He is a Ford tech at Texan Ford in Houston, but he lives in Columbus. I'd give you his phone number, but he is very closed mouth about what he does to his vehicles - tries to keep everything a secret to sucker in races.

Gotta love the camper top! What a sleeper! Maybe I should put a camper top on mine?

I know this guy. He is a friend of mine from Columbus, Tx. The truck has a bored 460 in it and gnarly mudgrips on the back. He has beat croch-rockets in the quarter and top-end. Toasted Vette's on the freeway, etc. He put big huge bus mufflers underneath it to keep it quiet. The motor is painted factory colors with modifed stock valve cover to clear the rollor rockers. He bought the truck like it looks and then modified the running gear himself. The truck runs low 11's in the quarter. He also has a '65 Mustang that runs 9's on 10.5" tire. All completly streetable.
