Scared Vette?

Saturday night, it was cruz nite here. Had an 05 vette run from the L. We saw him and moved up on him and he saw us. As we come up to a signal light, he was one car ahead of us in the left lane, we where in the rt lane. The traffic cleared in his lane, he got one it and we moved over to his lane and caught him. We stopped at another light, w/me behind him this time. He got on it again and we caught him again (Yes, he was still on it). We came upon a FM RD and he would not pull over and engage, he pulled off on a side street and went home. Makes me wonder what he has read or knows about our L's?

Yes, he was ascared of you. That's why he pulled off and went home. It's quite unusual to pull off and go home when your heading home.
HAHAHA! There's all sorts of craziness going on in Texas. What a bunch of crazy Texans. HAHAHA!.

I like the lightning and agree thiers a lot of power to be had, But I doubt a lightning is going to beat a vette on the track...on the streat it's fair game no matter what you drive.

I don't think he was scared the C6's are deffinitly faster than our L's. Maybe he had really low miles and was still breaking the motor in or something.

No offence, but you need to read up on C5s... You put a CAI on a SVTL and you will beat a stock C5. It does not take much, how ever the C6 Z06s on the other hand, stock for stock they would kill a Lightning. It takes a pretty well modded SVTL to take on a C6 Z06.

C5 run about a 13.3
Z06 run about a 12.5
"06 Z06 run about a 11.5

SVTL run about 13.4 (I only ran a 13.6 stock, but I suck)

EDIT: I thought he wrote he was racing a C5, but he said a "05. O.k. I'm an ***, sorry bout that. Either way, if the L cought up like he said, and the Vette was on it, He'd now it wasn't stock. jmo.

Well my buddy has an 06 vette, and unless your'e heavily modded you wouldnt stand a chance against one. I've ran 12.3@111.5 and on the street he leaves me in the dust from a roll. We've never really lined them up on the street due to fishtailing and it being so cold out. At the track his first time out, he went 12.68 @114 on the runflat tires w/ a 2.1 60ft. With tires he'll be low 12 capable. Riding in the car is no comparison to the L, I feel like to 100 i'd beat it, but after that the car pulls like crazy. So unless your'e modded, or he couldn't drive for ****, your'e toasttt. The c6 is a nasty car.

Absolutely, positively wrong. A stock 05 Vette can, and will, destroy a stock or mildly modded Lightning anywhere, any time. I had one, I've made dozens of passes with three different ones at the track, and there is no comparison. It's going to take some serious mods for an L to "walk away" from an 05 Vette.

Not trying to be mean, I love my L. But facts are facts.

Absolutely wrong, you may know how to drive a vette but many owners do not. And as far as the track goes ,I have seen 14 second slips from 01 and 04 vette owners. It it one thing to have a quick car but another to actually pilot it. Not trying to be mean but I do love My Lightning, but also know first hand that vettes are great but in the wrong hands are definately beatable.

I second that QWIK, i myself have taken on many C5 no problem, and i am not a heavily modded Lightning so to speak. Unless you know how to launch the Vette, Camaro SS, or Trans-am, they are sluggish off the line. From a roll is a different story which is why racing isn't done from a roll. The C6 however, is a different story.

Oh come on. Are you seriously going to argue driver error? The question is whether a stock L can beat a stock C5 Vette. We all know the answer, all things being equal. Want to argue whether a stock Camry can beat an L? Of course it could, the L could have bad spark plugs!

By the way, stock C5's do NOT run a best of 12.80's. If you think that, you're in for a big surprise the next time you go to the track.
