What do you want the truck to do? Do you want to level it out, do you want a firmer ride? Here's one link for a suspension kit that gets good reviews:
http://www.chickenears.com/hotchkis.htm, or, http://www.nloc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=118837, mine shipped last week, thanks to Jesse at LFP.

Mine sits level at both ends and is 15.5 inches from the center of the wheels to the bottom of the fender wells. It handles like a big slot car, comes out of the hole like a shot, and rides like a nice firm sports car. Is this kind of what you have in mind?

/\/\ Hotchkins /\/\

If you want to just level it out, then rear drop shackels are the way to go.
JLP's 4" shackel does it perfect. Mine is an '04 and it sits 10" from top of rim to fender in the front, 10.5" in the back.

Stock is something like 10" in front and 50' in the back on stock 03-04s Looks like a friggin stinker bug

Man that looks nice....
May have to go with the hotchkins in the future.
How's it feel compared to stock?
If I remember correctly you may not beable to answer that one because you said it was on the truck when you got it?

OK guys, I know it's been beat to death, but my new (to me) '03 sits way high in the rear and needs to be dropped a little. I'm not concerned with leveling it, just letting the back down some. Any cheap way to do it short of buying a $500 kit?

There are cheaper ways to lower your truck but there is only one really good way and that's with a first class rate matched kit like Hotchkis. Don't throw your money away on the cheap stuff that'll wind up making you hate your truck's handling. Been there, done that!

A set of shackles will lower the rear about 2 inches. JLP has them.

This is pretty low, but I am planning on tweaking another 1/2 inch or so out.

Ruslow 1200 pound springs front.
Roush Leaf springs rear.
Stock shackles.
Western Chassis Lower Control arms.
DJM Tubular Upper Control arms.
Hotchkis anti-sway bars front and rear.

I think my wheel center to fender is about 15.25 inches front, 16.5 rear now.
Low enough to hold in the turns, methinks.

EDIT: Remeasured today
