Talking Functional Ram air for regular 5.4

Found this while doing some investigating! It looks like the Keystone good hood, but I don't think its the same.

It is functional, but only for the regular 5.4. It's easy enough to make it work with a Lightning since all you would need to do is make a cold air box that would seal to the hood.

I was trying to find the hood that was on that Rooster truck when I found this one.

SVT2GO,

Heres the link http://www.profinish-proglass.com/

I think that hood would look good on a truck with the stance of a Lightning

have you thought about this one:

the functioning kit won't be out for 6-8 months.

I will hopefully get this next month and crash1 is going to make it functional for me.

i have a question about ram air kits, if you have one installed on your everyday truck, what would you do in the situation of rain? how would you keep water from entering the system without blocking incomeing air?

The Cervini's hood/Ram Air Kit hasd solved this, but I'm not aware of what they did. I might get one, had one of their hoods on my '94 Splash, very sharp and the quality was GREAT

That is the same hood I have. I couldn't get the ram air to work right. Only had 10 lbs. of boost with it hooked up. I think the inside is too restrictive.

HIGH RISK,

Could you post a picture of your truck with that hood on it. If you want to e-mail it to me then I can post it for you or put it on www.zing.com

If you could also post your mods so I can see what all you have had done. I thought you were close to breaking into the 11.x's or something. Thanks

There already is some pictures that Babolt posted at Zing.com. There is also a picture on the post "went to the LS1 board and accidently started some action". I bought a March ram air kit for a Mustang and modified the box to adapt to the Pro-M. Made a seal to attach to the bottom side of the hood. Opened up the passages in the hood as large as possible. It still didn't work very well. I put the stock hood back on for weight purposes. My best run so far is 12.29 @ 108. The truck wasn't shifting right. Got rained out Wednesday. Hopefully Saturday we'll get a high 11.

Thanks 2000 Silver that is the picture I was talking about. Yes I plan on going to the street races on the 28th. I put the factory hood back on for now. Trying to save a little weight. I got a new set of tires today. M/T street ET's they are a little wider and a little taller. Maybe enough for a couple tenths.

I didn't get to talk with him. I did send/receive an email from him, and decided we'd get together after I got back. I'll probably see you both on Friday Street Night. Good luck with the new tires!
