Getting to be time for tires....options?....

I went to a local tire place and was told that the F-1's are on back order until April and when I asked for a quote he said the whole shebang would be around 1300 bucks!!! Ouch! $279 a tire

So, needless to say I am going to order on line but what are you guys running and what is the best option right now?

Oh, this is for my 02

Thanks!

I suggest the Hankook Ventus ST RH06, good tire . Not as soft as the F-1's but last a whole lot longer. Seem to Hook well though.

Just my .02

Where did you get them and how much?

Tire rack and Discount tire list only the F1 as an option and they are on national back order!!!

22k on mine with at least 50% tread remaining. I got 25k miles on each of 3 sets of F1's. Looks like 45-50k for the kooks.

Sorry for the delay

www.onlinetires.com has them for 131.00 each. Add about 80-100 for shipping. They take about 7-8 days to receive usually.

Nitto 404 in the 285-50-18 about $125.00 each

I have had the 2 on the back then put them on the front for over 22K and they still look new. I got 2 more about 2 weeks ago and love them. No more F1s.

When I was looking Discount Tire could have had 2 F1s to me the same day. They had to get the Nittos from out of state and took about a week.

I put on the Toyo Proxes 3 weeks ago and have about 1000 miles on them. So far I love them. Less noise, don't follow the road ruts like the F1's and have handled the rain on highways well. No snow where I'm at to see how they work in it. Also, no problems slipping while pulling the boat out on the ramp.

If you want to get serious about "hook'n up" then the only tire to consider in my opinion is the Nitto 555R - 305 size. You will spend more in the long run, actually a hell-of-a-lot-more, because you should only get 10 to 12k on them, but at 24-26lbs they give new meaning to "hook'n"! And I'm not talking about the street corner kind

Think I picked mine up at Discount Tire for $225 a pce - around there - oh, and I only recommend them for the rear, I have the stock F1's on the front. I will probably switch to the Toyo for the front when they wear out.

Good Luck!

D-Day

you can get Nitto 555 for $206 shipped @ discount tires

their local stores will NOT give you this price
you will have to call them and ask for Chris
he can hook you up with this price for free shipping and no tax
I just got mine a few months ago and love them
