2000L deal?
Travelled around today and looked at white and silver lightning. the following is what I was offered to trade my 95 lightning in with 96K miles. On the white one they wanted $21,400 difference, and on the silver one they wanted $20,400 difference. the production date on the silver was 3-2000 and the white one was 4-2000. What do you folks think about the two deals?

I met a 1995 L owner at Earmark and took him for a wild ride, he was flabbergasted, and his words not mine.
Then he took me for a ride in his L and well nothing nice to say about it.
I'm not tiring to rain on your parade, but I didn't think his truck was worth $10,000. Isn't this figure the same as the dealers are offering?
If you have the cash, go for it!
If you can, which I doubt, try to drive one first. The 99.5 and above are heavier but IMHO I think they handle better, but I'll get flamed for stating this.
Add a chip and filter; you could very well be surprised when you're passing C5 Vetts, OK up to a point.

I picked up my new Silver L a week ago, I traded a 94 Black Lightning, fully optioned in on the silver. The 94 had 53K on her and was in good shape but did need several things that I did not try and hide from the
dealer.
Both bumpers and tailgate needed repainting
clockspring for airbag needed replacing
due (but not overdue) for transmission service
Tonneu cover needed about 35-50% of the snaps replaced
Good rubber, interior and such
The dealer actually gave me the 2000 for $28,300 on a $31,400 list after a
bit of fighting and they also had a red 2000 on the showroom floor already marked at
29,800.
They gave me $9000.00 trade on the 94.
Or you can look at it this way
I paid list for the 2000 and got $12100 for the 94, anyway I look at it it was a very good deal, especially because I dident want to privately sell the 94.
(bad experience selling another fast car)

94 Black # 2838 Gone but not forgotten
2000 Silver Winning my heart over every day
And I don't care what anyone says...SILVER IS the FASTEST color.
I know this for sure because they made the other colors first.....to give them a head start...
Only seems fair......

I am sorry I need to clarify that the two trucks are at different dealers. By the way called SVT this morning and they acknowledged they had a problem with the intercoolers and they have not figured out what is causing it. Thay also were very clear that they would fix it under warranty if it leaks. They also said that they have a fix out for the control arm problem and to talk to the dealer. They were supprisingly very honest!

By "lower control arm problem" are you refering to the oblong hole that needs to be welded problem or is there another control arm problem that I'm not aware of?
