Hose Failure! 99/00 Owners Read This!
I had a intercooler hose failure on my 00 today with only 2300 miles on it.
I got home and it was puking fluid all over my driveway. It was over 90 here today, so at first I just thought maybe it was just puking because it was overfilled or something.
Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the fan had chewed through the lower intercooler hose that runs from the intercooler down to the intercooler radiator.
There did not appear to be anything retaining the hose so that it would not come into contact with the fan.
My guess is that the factory forgot to install something that is supposed to keep this hose in place.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'd recommend everyone with an 99/00 check their hose to make sure this doesn't become a problem for you as well.
I replaced the hose temporarily with a section of 3/4" heater hose, and I plan to take it in to the dealer to have the hose replaced with the correct one tommorrow (if they even have the hose in stock).
I've posted some pics on my web site here:

Having problems getting to my web site?
I'll try linking the pics here and maybe that will help.
The red hose in the pic is my temporary replacement for the hose that the fan had for dinner. I routed the replacement hose differently than the stock hose. The stock hose went straight down the front of the engine past the fan. There did not appear to be anything retaining the hose to keep it away from the fan.
Here's the lower intercooler hose. The red circled area is where the fan chewed thru it.
Here's a close-up of the damaged part of the hose.

Update..
Yeah, it had to be mis-routed.
I looked at a 99 last night and it was routed like yours, totally away from the fan area, and there looks to be an air conditioning hose between it and the fan, so there's no way it could come into contact.
I took it in to the dealer and they are ordering me a new hose. They said the part number doesn't even come up since it is so new. Said it would probably take a week or two to get the hose in. I don't imagine anyone else has ever had to replace one of these yet, unless theirs was mis-routed.
The temporary heater hose was good for a 14.05 @ 97 last night.
