Swanson Chip and Pro M questions

Swanson Chip and Pro M questions
Just got off the phone with Danny Swanson and he took a lot of time and answered my questions about his chip and Pro M meter. My question is this: Are a lot of you running meters with your chips. Are they a 350 dollar necessity? The meter comes with a conical filter, so no need for an airraid or PSP filter kit, right??? An airraid is $249, so for $350 you get a meter and a filter kit.Good value?? Please send your opinions. I'm quite confused.

SVTDAVE,
You will get pros and cons about the Pro-M. Yes It does cost $350 from Danny(which includes shipping). I have one of Danny Swanson's chips and Pro-M 80MM Mass Air Meters and it preforms very well.
The Pro-M has no restrictions and generally all Pro-M's come with the electronics. Look at your present MAF and you will find a post in there that can and will cause some restrictions. Any time you smooth up flow it helps in the horsepower area.
Pro-M has been around the performance block for many years and the Mustang crowd loves'um.
The quest for speed never ends.

Dave,
I bought my Airaid on this site for $199 (and have since spent the additioanl 50 for a powerstack filter)
I have read some posts that the Pro-M gives an "L" roughyl 24 more HP. Kinda salty for $350. I'd see if he would sell just the meter and retrofit it onto a PSP setup or an Airaid.
I'm a Mustang "nut" and think Pro-m have great products.
Just my $.05.

I have a Pro-M meter on all of my cars / trucks. I think that they are the best (Best Products) no pun intended. I even run one on my little 3.0L Ranger. Last summer when I started dynoing my Lightning it was the Pro-M that was giving me my power increase. Over three times the horse power increase as opposed to the first edition Superchip. (NOTE! This is not a slam against Superchip with the latest editions I have seen dramatic improvements)

BTW...you can get the pro-m for 300 from Steve D @ Houston Performance (hey 50 bucks is 50 bucks). And yes it does make a big difference. I gained 24rwhp on the dyno.

Oh, Jesus (my friend Jesus Gonzales), I can just see more money flying out of my wallet. Spending $400 today to get $360 4.10 rear end installed. Next going to take it to Danny for his chip and dynotuning, but sounds like I have to have him install the MAF, too. Then over to Lancaster for some Cal Tracs, to get the ponies to the ground. Does it ever end?
