Mecca, I believe it's just another tuning option on the SCT chip or handheld, so running the SCT maf should be no problem with stock injectors, as for who to do it, you know who, pick a tuner.

Hey Don, I wonder why or what the issue is? I was thinking you might be able to pick up a set of 55's or 60's used for half the cost of new, that may be be an easier fix.

well

All i wanted to do is upgrade the maf because with the ported blower and 6lb lower with headers, i know i'm pegging it in the cold because at the track in the fall around 4500 rpms my wideband started leaning out to up over 12.

I upgraded the pumps so i know that wasn't an issue it it wasn't happening when it was warmer out, so it was more of a safety precaution. I really didn't want to get into changing injectors because 60lbers is overkill and i heard of alot of issues with the 50 and 55lbers. Plus the cost is the big thing.

I don't know what is going on to be honest except Jim said he didn't have a program for an sct maf with stock injectors and would have to create one and that while doing it, there was a couple of issues. He pulled in a truck that was there and played around with it and the maf to create tables. He's had my chip for over 2 weeks now (I know they are swamped)and i've been borrowing my dad's truck for transportation so I told them if they couldn't get it figured out, just send my chip back for now and let me know when they get a chance to work on it, then i'll send it back. Obviously would be easier if they had my truck there on the dyno but with the wedding comming, i can't afford to be dumping all this cash on the truck so I just assume go back to my 4lb lower, stay with the 90mm maf and call it a day for now. Whip has some injectors if i need them but if i'm gonna go for injectors, i can't see having an accurate tune without putting it on the dyno. I'll call them tomorrow to see how they made out. I guess this wasn't as simple as I though, but nothing usually is. Haha.

Don, why not just add a MAFia?
Last fall when i was deciding on what way to go, I kinda got the feeling the MAFia was a plug and play ticking time bomb and the full maf would be the way to go. Now, from what I understand, the Mafia is really easy to tune around and adjustable compared to trying to tune for the SCT MAF.

I'm open to all ideas I guess. I know in talking to you, you said you had to start from scratch with the 2000 trucks. I think that is what Jim meant when he said he had some things that he wasn't thrilled about.

Don, At the end of June, I think the 29th, I have an appointment with JDM. One of the mods I'm doing is a SCT programmer, I'll have my single program Superchip left over, it's a freebie if it'll help you out, I can leave it with Jim so he can work on your program, this way your not down while he works out the bugs. I'm actually on the new SCT software. I just elected to go with the 3 program 4 bank chip rather than the tuner. Jim dyno tuned me up the fall before last.

No problem Todd

I talked to JDM this morning and they sent me my chip back so I can drive my truck while they work on it . I should be fine untill the colder weather comes, but I'd drather be safe than sorry. I'm sure there will be quite a few folks upgrading maf's with stock injectors so hopefully it will help more than just me.

Now I know why I should have gotten the XCAL!!!! Hahahaha.

I ran a BA2400 on my stock motor with 42lb inj for about 6 months before putting in the built motor. No issues at all.
