You were going along fine up until this point. I don't care if they are the best tire ever made, "Hankook" is a stupid name. At least they could have had the courtesy to steal an existing American name (like Bridgestone/Firestone).
What if I told you that hankooks are being used on newer ford trucks? Two of my local friends just bought F150's, both with the Hankook name on the sidewall. Personally I could care less if they had Flinstone on the sides, as long as they perform. And "Nitto" is such a cool name, too. BTW, as you know, the tread wear rating is usually relative with the Z,V,W,S and H ratings. You would be hard pressed to find a Z rated tire with a tread wear of over 320, as you would find an H rated tire with a great dry traction.Usually the higher the tread wear, the less "sticky" the tire and visa versa. My point was for a V rating, the Hankooks showed hardly any less noticable dry traction than the higher rated Nittos and Goodyears. And Tim, it could be worst....they could have raised white letters.

I recently installed new F1's and they completely blow me away with how good they stick! It makes this 5000lb beast forgivable when you run it in too hot.

I think they are a key component to the Lightning package.

This is quite funny to me considering your comments in all of the previous hankook threads stating how much they suck, and yet you are on your second set, amazing.

I also run these tires, very happy with them.

No, what's amazing is that you misinterpret every thing I say.
Must be a Florida thing. They DO suck. But they ARE cheap
and last longer (Economical not Performance). I think that is
what I said all along. Also, the reason you guys in FL get
traction in the rain is because there is a large percentage of
coral and/or sand in your macadam. I noticed the difference
when I was at Sebring.

Try to pay attention, it's really easy ...

Oh I am paying attention smart guy, I was just saying how much you kept bitching about them about how much they sucked performance wise, you were the genius trying to track a $500 set of tires, not me. Yet here you are, the owner of not one, but now, your brand new second set of ****ty hankooks, not complaining now though I see. The argument you kept making if I remember correctly was that you had this expensive truck, this great suspension and couldn't utilize any of it with these ****ty tires, I guess they aren't so bad now are they.... keep trying cliff.

As soon as I finally burn up the 'gooks (and I have been trying! Dayum they are HARD),
I will be back on F1's ... My life's worth a bit more than $400.00 to me.

Have a good day, and sorry for the misunderstandings.

I think the tread looks great on these tires, I think the sidewall will have to grow on me, but for the extra mileage I'll get, I think I can make do.

Thanks again,
Jim

Let us know what you think when you finally get them on, I think you will be pretty pleased with them.

Patrick, Patrick, Patrick ...

The only time I would be using the street tires on-track would be for
rain tires. I haven't used street tires on-track since the second event I
attended. Please keep the issues straight. Basically we were debating
the fact that y'all claimed that a 420 rated hard rubber tire out-performed
the stock Goodyear F1's and that is just plain horse-feathers.

We're done ...
