Thumbs up Mayfield's win

After years of watching Dale Earnhardt do it to others, it was nice to see Jeremy Mayfield do it to Dale Earnhart. If you didn't see it, read about it here. Especialy what happened after the race on the victory lap. LOL http://espn.go.com/auto/nascar/news/...19/593147.html

Saw every lap, guess he had it due.He did the same thing last year to Terry Labonte at bristol..I think the Intimidator was a little Intimidated really thought that Stewart would have had it....

Buddy Baker summed it up nicely:

"If you live by the sword, you die by the sword." Atta boy Jeremy.

I loved Earnhardt's statement about "Well, I guess that's what Jeremy will call it..'racing'." (or somthing like that) What? You can give it but not take it? !POBRECITO!

I liked how Mayfield said he "just wanted to rattle his cage a little". That is the same thing Earnhardt said when he took out Terry Labonte last year. Made me even happier, it was like he stuck it to Dale twice.

As a Nascar fan since 1969 (first race Daytona500) I was jumping and screaming at the final lap. Just loved the finish, that is why you will see a number 3 in a red circle with a slash thru it on the back of my L. WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey I saw the end of the race on CNN, pretty cool. He DID rattle #3's cage. As a kid not knowing any names, I remembered #3 always near the front at the end of the race. Never won one though, I think it was the Daytona 500 I was watching. I worked for the track for the 49th Daytona 500 and saw him win it finally. LOUD!

While watching a disappointing NBA finals come to an end I decided to flip through the channels and got to catch the final two laps. That has to be one of the best finishes I have seen, it made my night. I have a friend at work that is a huge #3 fan, but lucky for him he is on vacation this week. I sure would would have like to rubbed it in, oh well.

I have a question for some of y'all NASCAR diehards out there. What do you think about Gordon's chances next week? Before you go off..I know...I like that SOB about like I like a bloody rash on my a$$, but I am trying to come up with some drivers for a fantasy NASCAR team. I figure that he IS good on road courses and (what the hell) I can use him for points, right? The only reason I'm asking is because all of the East Texas #3 boys will never let me live it down if *** boy blows it. Praying the enemy will win (maybe)...

Big Dale fan here, but Dale's done it before, so I don't think I can squawk when it gets done to him. Sometimes you're the hunter, and sometime you're the hunted. That's racing.

Duck01, I am not a Gordon (Jeff that is, now that Robby is back) fan either but he had the pole last year in Sonoma and won. I would pick him even, though he has not been running really well this year.

Watch out for Ricky Rudd in the Yates car at Sonoma, good power and he is a very good road racer.
