Won My First Trophy At Local Show! (Pics)

Hey guys,

I went to a local show this past weekend, Newark Autofest, and picked up a 6th place trophy. There were only about 150+ cars, no special truck class. Anyway, the top 6 cars get to be on next years show t-shirt, so I guess I will have to pick one of them up with my truck on it!

Here are a few pics of my truck from the show. Don't mind the lame PT cruisers, there were about 10 of them there from a local club that attended.

On a side note. These pics show my paint after the full Zaino treatment. Wash with Dawn, clay bar, wash with Z7, Z-PC with a porter cable, 3 coats of Z5 pro, 2 coats of Z2 pro, and Z12 glass cleaner. The 7 year old paint has never looked so good!

Sorry, my first experience with putfile, I can't figure out how to get full sized images. Click to enlarge

The treatment for the paint.... did you do it yourself ore did someone els do it? Do you have a link to the products on the net?

I did the paint work myself. It took me over 10 hours+ do finish it all.
You can buy the products here: http://www.zainostore.com/

The rod is a 1/2" stainless steel rod. I only use it because the stock struts to not hold the weight of the hood. I have a sleeve I made for it but it holds the hood all the way up. I like to have the hood a little bit lower at shows so that people can see the cowl hood, but high enough for people to look at the engine....

Looks like a Cervini's. If it is, I know that puppy is heavy!!! Do you still run the stock hood struts? There are some heavier struts that help.

I have a Reflexxion steel hood on mine and heavy duty struts hold it up just fine and you can see all the way through the cowl.

Yeah, I am running stock hood struts. I was looking into heavy duty ones but I heard they fling the hood up they are so strong.

Lumadar: This is only the second trophy show I've ever been to. I usually just attend local shows (non-competition) for fun and to check out the other cars and trucks.

Looks awesome, and congratts

I have been thinking of getting rid of my micky mouse mirrors. Which ones are those, and do the fold like the stock mirrors??

They are the street scene mirrors, full power with signals in them. I love the look, and they have plenty of viewing area even though they are so much smaller than stock. They do not fold in. They also just fit through the garage with about 2 inches on either side of them.

Ron Raire (thunderbolt) Has the same hood and just picked up the right struts. They don't fling it open to fast but work way better than the stockers.
