Agreed. Very nice stance, rake, and wheels!

I wish I could go that low in the front, but with the DG air dam, a 2" or so drop is all I can do. Even with my current drop, it scrapes:

Tim that wasn't nice to mention the wheels... you know he really wants yours...

I concur, though, Travis' truck looks great.

Guestion for Ian and Travis, et al. Why not de-arch the '04 leafspring and maintain all the leafs? I've got WC hangers and was thinking I'd have the '04 pack de-arched, is this bad news?

I really appreciate the kind words, gents!

Gary- I’m looking forward to seeing your beauty with the spindles.

Tim-

Flash- You have me pegged! I must have made my lust for Tim’s wheels obvious.......

I fail to comprehend how we can be in the midst of a raging blower war – on a discontinued truck, no less - but nobody will produce an affordable wheel, that is half as tasty as the Moda F5

Sorry ‘bout that...

I think that de-arching the '04 leaf pack is a great way to go, if you’re going to use the truck to haul or tow. I myself do not, and found that the three top leafs presented the best, all-around compromise for my situation; daily driven on rough roads, occasional light hauls, and always hot in the corners. Oddly enough, I did not notice an increase in push. Maybe I suck though, as I also noticed no difference correcting the rear sway bar.

I found that the stock ’04 rode appreciably more compliant with some weight in the back. I came to the conclusion that they were engineered with a bias towards load rating.

I'm looking forward to hearing Ian's observations. Oh yeah, I dig his hoops as well

Thanks,
Travis

the think that always floored me about the Moda F5's is you could grab them from TireRack...that's a sexy rim to get from such a mainstream retailer.

Ok guys heres some pics.

front setup is stock springs and arms with drop spindles and thin hotchkis spring isolator with Koni shocks. Rear is stock 2004 leafs minus the bottom 2 leafs, Koni shocks and Socal extenders, the ride so far is very nice, softer but still very well controlled, the front is sitting at 16.25 to 16.5 and seems a bit too low for NYC streets, I am going to try some twist in coil spring helps i found at autozone. the rear is around 18 - 18.5 still need to let it settle out some more, I purchased some leaf clamps and will use them if need be.

Great work Ian. Those spindles must be a true 2" drop. Is there any vibe at 20 MPH?

putting in the twist in coil helpers tomorrow , i am also considering flipping around the passenger side shock mount to the rear......it may help axle wrap having the staggered setup but I am pretty sure it throws off the handling a bit

Pit,
This could work if you put traction springs to counter your loss of axle control. I'm currently doing the opposite and putting them both facing forward.

No. That would have been too easy. I would have moved the shocks closer to the frame rails and be done. Now I am moving the springs out 1" which allows me to put them outside the frame rails. I don't think this has been done before.
