Shock dyno: Hotchkis-Bilstein
#226
In my snowmobile racing days, we sometimes had to work in unheated garages or even outside at -25 and even -30. And sometimes in tight areas we had to do it with bear hands and too stupid/proud to admit that our fingers were turning into frozen popsicles... Ah! The good old days...
Freezing cold in NY??? There's no such thing

Tonight was a no go for the rear shocks, it was cold as ***** out and snowing so it was pointless to install something I couldnt even test drive, so I just changed my knock sensor on the subie and went back home with my tail between my legs.....to be continued next week I guess. CRAP and I forgot to measure my leafs and take pics of the clamps....sorry guys.

But alas, they don't fit the stock rears. What are the thread specs on them for when it's shock ordering time?
Also, it looks like the studs on the stockers are screwed onto/into the shafts and are therefore removable. Getting rid of the studs would shorten the shafts a bunch and allow for Heims. Did you ask the Bilstein techs if there was any way to take them off?

Tim,
the heims i ent you are M10x1.5 which will fit on the hotchkis spec bilsteins and the 6013 rodeo shocks......stockers are M12x1.75 I believe. i do not think the threaded portion on the stockers is removeable, however with the rodeo shocks and socal extenders you should have plenty of travel left when used in conjuction with the heims. i am going to run the 6013's as is without extenders or heims to see how i like them before trying heims.....I think th heims may be overkill, our trucks are in Rube Goldberg territory already without adding even more doodads to them, hence your opinion of the sliders.

on second thought, the stockers MAY be M12x1.25 but you would have to double check, since you have the stockers.....just test with a tap and die set if you have one handy.
you can get more of the heims I sent you and other sizes here:
