Question Anybody ever get pulled over for????

I was wondering if anyone on this board has ever gotten pulled over for not putting a front license plate on the front fender, and if so was their a fine or what? Unless I absolutely have to I will not drill in to my lower bumper.

Most of us HALO guys don't have 'em. I've passed hundreds of cops, but have only been pulled over once (by a young DPS officer in a small town). I think he was bored and just wanted to check out my truck. He let me go with a verbal, but said to get it taken care of...yeah right. The fine in TX is minimal, but I really don't think they enforce the law much. It is used more as an excuse to pull you over to check for DWI, drugs, etc.

I belive the law down here is kind of vague as to location. I think it says something like the plate must be readable from 8' in front of the vehicle. Location is varible.
I carry mine under the middle of the seat where I can grab it and toss it on the dash if I get stopped and we can discuss it from there. So far no stops.

Cool

You fellas are lucky, here in Jersey, you Must have plate displayed in front. At least my dealer installed the front bracket, so I didn't have to pull out the dreaded drill.

Fine up here is $50. I haven't been pulled over for it, and I frequented the 'strip' a couple of times. I was pulled over for speeding, and the state trooper was heading the opposite direction. I guess he forgot about it when I answered questions with another question.

Noel, Trimble, 2000Black,

Got all of ya. Filled up with Amoco 93 for 1.49 yesterday. Goin for 94 Sunoco next tank. Granted, our "beloved" govenor gave us all a TEMPORARY stay of having to pay state gas taxes. A Liberal suspending taxes (even for a short time) scratch...scratch....somethin's funny here.

AND.....We in Indiana don't need not stinkin front plates either. When I bought my "L", I told the salesman point blank, friendly yet firm, "You put that darn thing on my new truck and you might as well tear up the purchase agreement. Don't even "detail" it, I'll do it." Hell, it had only 80 miles on it, 20 from my test drive. They left me the bracket in the glove box along with the hitch plug-in adapter. Still have it (in a box) Might even put it on ebay and see what it will draw
