Post one great article

SVT Lightning strikes with speed

There was a great article on the L in the "Business/Monday" magazine in the Orange County Register (Calif.) today, July 24, 2000.

It made me proud. But there was a sentence that my wife quickly pointed out, This isn’t the most practical truck, either, particularly if you have a family to haul around. I told my wife that this is not quite true that I could easily haul around a number of her relatives in the back, probably more than the average 4 door. She didn’t seem to appreciate the humor.

Statements like The Lightning is probably the fastest production-model truck in the world, and I know it is one of the fastest street-legal vehicles I’ve ever driven. Without even knowing it, you’re way beyond the speed limit. are peppered through out the article along with a 5"x8" picture of a big, beautiful, BLACK L.

I loved it.

Question

Do you have a link? I couldn't find the article on their web-site.

While I was typing in this post, my wife said the same thing. I went to the paper's web site and could not find it. May be you can do better.

I think that column was written by a syndicated columnist because I saw an article recently in the Fort Worth paper that sounds the same. So, check your local paper.

I got a hold of the OC Register article on the Lightning, it is definitely one worth reading, something we can all relate to - nice to see those views published in a major newspaper, with it's own page and large photo. I think it's too big to make a photo copy of it or else I would. Anyways I highly recommend at least the So Cal people try to get a copy for themselves.

Now I am having trouble finding a copy of MM&FF. Where can I get a copy around here?

Mike
